Tree Fern Lodge comprises two country style timber buildings joined by a covered verandah, set in rolling grassy hills at the edge of pristine rainforest.
The older of the two buildings is the sleeping wing. It was originally a beachside kiosk at Kiama, before being dismantled and rebuilt as the first part of Tree Fern Lodge. The hardwood timber used the frame and external walls and floors dates to the early 20th Century. Inside this wing we’ve constructed three timber-lined bedrooms linked by a central hallway. The main and second bedrooms have one queen size double bed in each, while the third bedroom has a tri-bunk bed, standard double mattress on the lower level and a large single mattress on the top. All up there is sleeping space for seven people. There is a modest bathroom in this wing too (the main bathroom is in the other wing). All beds have electric blankets and room heaters, with doonas or blankets, as you prefer.
The newer building is the living wing, which has the comfort of air-conditioning. Its construction is similar to the sleeping wing, with timber external and internal walls, but we’ve made it open plan with a quarry tile floor. It has a kitchen well equipped for cooking; an Italian all-electric range with ceramic cooktop; fan forced multi-function oven; a microwave; a full range of utensils, cutlery and crockery; and pots and pans. There is a large bench for food preparation. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large timber dining table that will comfortably seat eight people. At the opposite end of the living area there is a leather lounge suite comprising a three seater sofa and two armchairs. For entertainment, we have TV, stereo with CD/DVD and tuner, plus a range of CDs and DVDs. We also have a collection of books for fireside and bedside reading or to enjoy in the sun room! At one end of the living room is the main bathroom and laundry. We have two large water tanks and plenty of rain to keep them full! We also have an outdoor table and chairs, two “steamer” style lounges and a gas BBQ.

Fantastic stay We had a fantastic stay at Tree Fern Lodge. Excellent location, clean and comfortable with everything you could need. This was our second stay and we would absolutely come back again.
A very enjoyable stay... An excellent value location, with magnificent views and a property to wander around on. We saw our first wild wombat, and the bird life was spectacular. I was also impressed by the quality of the kitchen and the utensils. The heating was very effective, and beds very comfy. A wonderful experience altogether.
Great property Fantastic location, really peaceful. Fire was lovely. Pretty basic accommodation but that was what we expected.
Beautiful, secluded and peaceful We really enjoyed our stay at Tree Fern. We stayed there for 3 nights in July and between the fireplace and heaters we were warm and snug the whole time. It was a chilly venture between buildings but we were able to warm up quickly. The grounds are beautiful and perfect for short or long walks. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. Thanks.
Great Location We stayed at Tree Fern Lodge for a long weekend in July. The house was very cozy and well furnished for the winter weather. Having the split house had pros and cons of course. It was good to have the noise split between the 2 houses but difficult with children coming in and out. Overall we had a great time and were very happy with the house.
