Hidden from the road in a peaceful pocket the only sound you will hear is that of natures own amphitheatre of native birds carolling.
Indooroopilly is the perfect retreat for that special weekend away with family or friends accommodating up to 14 adults and 8 children.
This exclusive mountain retreat was originally built by writer and poet Barbara Blackman (whom was previously married to artist Charles Blackman) and her then partner Marcel Veldhoven as a nurturing escape.
Evolved from the land itself the home is hand built and integrates the tapestry of textures such as mud bricks, paddock rocks, local timber and unique temple like roofline makes Indooroopilly one of the most interesting and individual places in the area.
On the property there is a main house plus an additional cottage. The main house has been extensively renovated and now consists of 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, customised kitchen, lounge and dining. There is also an additional Auditorium within the main house that makes for a perfect alternative entertaining space, a kids getaway, or even a conference area.
Outside there is a great cubby house, kids swing set, and a fully fenced pool.
The cottage consists of 1 main bedroom & 1 Loft bedroom with adjoining balcony.

This beautiful property takes your breath away With friends and family gathering for a celebration we found ourselves in the most amazing location. The property is situated atop a dreamy valley with views to the famous wedding cake mountain beyond the glamour swimming pool . We found such tranquility here. Then there is the accommodation! I have never stayed in more perfectly considered comfort. The bedrooms, bathrooms , kitchen and living areas are all equipped to make your stay luxurious yet in keeping with the location. A special treat was the separate cottage which has all its own magic. I cannot recommend Indooroopilly highly enough. You have to see it to believe it.
What a perfect venue! We had a fabulous family weekend at Indooroopilly, age groups ranging from 18 to 88. Everyone was so well catered for. We will absolutely rebook soon as our weekend couldn’t have been better! Thank you to the owners who have maintained this property so beautifully. A weekend we will remember always!
