The Iconic Train: if you have ever driven down south, you would have seen this iconic landmark on Bolong Road! Many remember the 1970s and 80s when it was open to the public serving afternoon high tea. The owners hope to bring it back to its former glory and create a unique venue for family get togethers, corporate retreats, dinner parties and birthday parties. However, sadly the train is currently out of bounds due to safety concerns. Think of it currently as a very cool garden ornament!!
Please note: if you are looking for a property with state of the art, modern amenities then Coolangatta School House may not be suitable for you. Enjoyed this wonderful house! Such an amazing 3 nights staying at Bolong Road. As soon as we pulled in to the drive the character jumps out at you. You really can see how much hard graft and love has gone into restoring this amazing property. Six of us in total stayed here in autumn, probably one of the prettiest time of years to visit! The nights were cold enough to have the fires roaring while we kicked back and polished of bottles of fine wine. Each room has been really well thought out and oozes character. Its the first time in my life i have ever had a spa bath while sitting up (great for sipping on red wine while doing so). Bolong Rd really does cater for all ages from smaller to larger groups with ample space. The beds are EPIC and everything from a practical point is on hand for you. All you need to do is turn up and relax. We enjoyed dancing around the fire pit as the sun disappeared and the pizza oven is pretty dam cool too. For those who like to keep busy if it rains, the man cave is a must. If you are looking for style, relaxation and some pretty cool heritage, it will tick all your boxes. Lastly, the location is perfect. We enjoyed wine tasting a stone's throw away at the Coolangatta estate, long beach walks on Shoalhaven beach and spent far too long in the gelato shop and doughnut van in Berry.
